Bio

Liam Laird is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and holds a master’s degree in Jazz Studies from NYU Steinhardt. Performing regularly throughout New York City, Laird has studied with both legendary artists and leading contemporary musicians.

With extensive experience teaching students of all ages, he is passionate about music education and is dedicated to supporting every student on their musical journey.

Originally from the mountains of Western Colorado, Laird grew up benefiting from the encouragement of local musicians and strong community investment in music education. Having received so much from these opportunities, he is committed to giving back and sharing the transformative power of music whenever possible.

Teaching Info

Each lesson will be personalized to the student’s goals, interests, and needs. In general, a holistic approach to music education will be taken. While fun and enjoyment always come first, we will also focus on building strong instrumental fundamentals, understanding music theory, developing effective practice habits, using our ears, nurturing creativity, and building confidence in reading music.
